Skin, the largest organ in the human body. In fact, if it was to be stretched out, an average human body’s skin would be about 20 square feet. Whew!

No, we’re not going to delve into the layers of skin, so to speak. So, no mention of the epidermis, or the dermis, or even the subcutaneous. And no, we shan’t speak of the actual role of the skin, namely protection from microbes and the elements, or regulating the body temperature, or enabling sensations of touch, heat and cold.

And before you take it up as a challenge, we also won’t speak of the skin tones being decided by special cells termed melanocytes that produce the pigment melanin and are present in the epidermis.

What remains then, you may well ask.

Here’s to the most glamorous glow up to beat all other features – a flawless skin. 

GLOWING, VIBRANT, SMOOTH, SOFT, RADIANT – These are all words we use to describe the skin we want to have. Yes, there is no shame in admitting it. 

Imagine, you possess remarkably healthy skin, the type of skin others would love to have. As much as we find it hard to admit or talk about, our skin is our largest accessory, something we take with us every place we go. It is completely natural that we would want it to look its best at all times. Whether we cover it, part expose it or even play peek-a-boo, nothing ups the glamour quotient like healthy skin.

So, how do we go about getting this most glamorous accessory ?

We eat fruits.

Believe it or not,

1. Oranges

Daily Vitamin C intake is mandatory for radiant skin. The natural oils present in oranges keep your skin hydrated, making it look plump.

Pineapples contain Vitamins A, C, K and minerals that are essential in maintaining clear, healthy skin. They are also rich in bromelain, which has anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties.

This fruit can improve your skin texture, reduce sun spots and reduce acne symptoms. It is also effective in speeding-up the skin’s healing process and removing dead skin cells

4. Apricot

Apricots are high in antioxidants and vitamin C, which helps fight free radicals in your body. It helps reduce the appearance of signs of aging. Apricots also possess anti-inflammatory properties that can improve acne symptoms.

Apricots are also rich in Vitamin A, K and folate that are effective in improving your skin’s overall health.

5. Strawberries

Apart from being great ice cream flavors, strawberries also possess qualities that can help improve skin health! Strawberries are great chemical exfoliators. They contain an alpha-hydroxy acid known as salicylic acid which is a popular ingredient in beauty products.

Salicylic acid in itself possesses anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help reduce acne symptoms. It cleanses the skin and removes unwanted dirt and bacteria that may clog your pores.

Strawberries also contain Vitamin C and ellagic acid. Ellagic acid prevents UV damage and reduces the appearance of signs of aging
